The Midlan MER102 Plas was designed to be the perfect severe weather survival radio for hurricanes, earthquake, tornadoes and all other weather emergiencies. The Dynamo crank allows you to recharge the wind up radio and flashlight during a power outage. Also, when away from a power source you can stay informed with NOAA All Hazard Weather Alerts or local AM/FM broadcasts by using the windup radio crank hand. This means you never need batteries. I purchased this product primarily because it is a Midland product and as far as emergency radio's go, Midland is the best.Overall - it is a must for when the power goies out and you need information quick.
